Vorogushin was born in Tula in 1913. Before the war he worked at the region newspaper Communar. In March 1942 he joined the ranks of the Red Army. Vorogushin fought from Stalingrad to Prague as a member of the staff of the newspaper For the Homeland. During the war he drew sketches, caricatures, placards, portraits of heroes. Vorogushin was decorated with the Order of the Patriotic War of the 2nd class, the Red Star Order, the Medal for the Defence of Stalingrad, the Medal for the Capture of Budapest, the Medal for the Victory Over Germany in the Great Patriotic War 1941–1945. After the war he returned to Tula. Vorogushin had a title of Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation. Works of Vorogushin Y. V. |
