Zhdanov was born in Moscow in 1923. He volunteered in May 1942. During the Battle of Stalingrad he was a rifleman of the 115th Guards Rifle Regiment of the 38th Guards Rifle Division. Zhdanov was decorated with the Medal for the Defence of Stalingrad. After the war he graduated from Moscow Teacher’s Training Institute (a faculty of arts and graphics). Works of Zhdanov L. I.
