Kirpichyov was born in Novocherkassk. In 1930 he graduated from High Art and Technical Institute. In 1932 he became a member of the Artists Union of the USSR. From 1936 Kirpichyov took part in art exhibitions. In 1943 he joined the Grekov Studio of Military Painting. Kirpichyov was given a title of Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation. He took part in World War II. In December 1942 he was sent to the Don Front to make sketches and pick up materials for the exhibition “The Great Patriotic War in the Soviet Fine Art”. Kirpichyov was decorated with the Medal for the Victory Over Germany in the Great Patriotic War 1941–1945, and other rewards. Works of Kirpichyov P. Y.
